THE CASTLE OF THE COUNTS
Castle with a manor house, a Tournai style facade, a farmyard, the remains of outbuildings and a moat.
From the 13th to the 18th century, four families of lords succeeded one another and developed the estate. Two major episodes in its history: the Emperor Charles V stayed here during a visit to Mouscron in 1516, then it was occupied by the Hurlus during the Wars of Religion. All that remains today is the main building, in Tournaisian style, two courtyards, a janitor's lodge, outbuildings housing the Marcel Marlier center, and a moat dating from the 15th to 17th centuries. It is currently being restored. A pathway leads through the gardens.
