Memorial to the British soldiers who died during the Great War in Ploegsteert
This memorial, inaugurated in 1931, pays tribute to the British soldiers who perished in the Great War. It is a Commonwealth cemetery with more than 11,447 names inscribed in memory of the brave fighters, soldiers and officers of the British Empire. This imposing circular colonnade is guarded by two stone lions. Every first Friday of the month, a ceremony is held at 7 p.m. to honour the victims of this tragedy, in the presence of the communal authorities.
