BEER DISTILLERY
The only real fruit distillery in Wallonia and Belgium, allowing the visit of many cultural events.
Born in 1946, it is the only real fruit distillery in Wallonia and Belgium and its visit is quite popular as it proves to be very interesting. It begins with the projection of a short film, continues with the very playful perfume organ and ends with a visit to the distillation room, to learn all about the secrets of this ancestral know-how. In addition to the famous Eau de Villée, made from fresh lemons, it also produces the Poire Williams N°1, the P'tit Peket and about twenty other brandies, liqueurs and sweeteners, all made from fresh and untreated fruit. Every year, the distillery transforms 300 tons of fruit, including apples from the Aubel region, in its stills. Among the recent creations masterfully carried out by the distiller Pierre Gérard, we will point out the Kumqat (symbol of luck and success), an excellent bitter, two gins (one of which won an award in London in 2016), a whisky (in fact rye whiskey) which is making a name for itself and a Poiremagnac which you will tell us about! Depending on the type of alcohol, ageing is carried out in stainless steel vats, oak barrels, or in barrels from Château Yquem. Since 2000, the Biercée distillery is located in the exceptional farm of the Court, former court of justice of the Abbey of Lobbes. In addition to the visit of the distillery, the site allows many events and cultural events. Possibility to taste the products of the Distillery at the adjoining Grange des Belges.
