MAGMA, MARBLE MUSEUM
Museum presenting an activity that once made the reputation of the region in Rance
This recently renovated museum has changed its name to MagMa (Geology and Marble Workshop Museum). It presents an activity that once made the reputation of the region: the extraction of the red marble of Rance, used in Antwerp, Brussels and in the decoration of buildings such as the Louvre, the Palace of Versailles and the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican! Here we discover geology but also social history, extraction techniques, the reconstitution of a marble workshop or its incorporation into art. Temporary exhibitions and marble creations.
