THUIN BELFRY
Belfry with 194 steps, listed as a Unesco World Heritage Site, with an extraordinary 360° view.
At the very top of the belfry, there are still 194 steps to climb to reach the sky! Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it remains the only vestige of a collegiate church razed to the ground in 1811. The belfry dominates the Sambre and rises forty meters above the ground, offering an extraordinary 360-degree view. On the way up, we meet the bells and the carillon. Baptiste Demars is the town of Thuin's resident carillonneur. Only 22 years old (born in October 2002), he is the youngest carillonneur in Belgium!
