LINEN HALL
Building that welcomed merchants and clothiers from Flanders and Italy to Tournai.
The very first covered market dates back to the 13th century. Originally, the building housed merchants and drapers from Flanders and Italy. Built of wood, it was knocked down by a storm in 1606. It was rebuilt four years later in a composite style: Renaissance1st floor, Baroque gables, frontispiece with superimposed Ionic columns on the upper floor... Adjoining the building is the magnificent conciergerie. The interior of the Halle aux Draps is mainly visible during the fairs and exhibitions held there.
