TAMAT MUSÉE DE LA TAPISSERIE ET DES ARTS TEXTILES DE LA FWB
Museum of 15th and 16th century works, hosting the Center for Tapestry, Wall and Fabric Arts
Tapestry is a centuries-old specialty of Tournais. The museum houses tapestries from the 15th and 16th centuries, as well as contemporary works by Dubrunfaut, Somville and Deltour, members of the "Forces Murales" group, which revitalized the art of tapestry. The museum hosts an artistic residency, "Recherches", as well as a restoration workshop and documentation center. Once a year, guest artists exhibit works and documents resulting from their research into textiles.
