THE CASTLE OF THE PRINCES OF THE LINE
Castle built for the Sire of Antoing, a nerve center offering an unobstructed view on the plain from Tournai to Mons.
The origins of the building date back to the 12th century. It was then a nerve centre offering an unobstructed view over the plain from Tournai to Mons. Built for the Sire of Antoing on the site of a wooden building, it was transformed century after century by the De Melun family, then by the Princes de Ligne, who still own the castle today. In the 19th century, the architect Clément Parent gave the building the neo-Gothic appearance that we know today.
