LA VOÛTE DE POUILLY
A 3.3-km vault built between 1826 and 1832 to allow the canal to pass from one of the two basins to the other.
This 3.3-km tunnel, built between 1826 and 1832, saved on the construction of several locks. Situated on the watershed, it allows the canal to pass from one basin to the other. In 1867, a steam-driven winch was installed to help "winch" (pull) the boats. Electricity was introduced in 1893. The Billebaude boat offers a 2-hour round trip, during which you cross the Pouilly arch, pass through a lock and make a stop at the electric turner.
