GEOLOGIUM AND MOULIN DU BROUKAY
Museum on a site where to discover the flint, the interpretation room of the Mill of Broukay, the tower of Eben-Ezer and others
The living museum " Géologium du Broukay " was created on the five hectares of " Broukay " - a former flint quarry - in Eben Emael where there is also a mill. It is now a multi-purpose and family leisure centre with a multitude of activities. The Geologium introduces visitors to the human, archaeological, geological and industrial history of this part of the Geer valley. On the site, through the flint, one visits (for three hours): the interpretation room of the Moulin du Broukay, the banks of the Geer, the Geo-Space, the exhibition "From flint to prestigious marble", the Eben-Ezer Tower housing the Silex Museum, the Geospadium, the Archeo-Space and the Eben Ezer Park. To close, the brasserie-restaurant of Le Broukay is ideal for a lunch break or a coffee break. The more sporty can also practice mountain biking and kayaking there.
The Eben-Ezer tower is the work of one man: Robert Garcet. Square, the building is twelve meters square. The park of the tower hosts every year an exhibition of fantastic art which exposes about thirty artists. At the foot of the tower is the Silex museum. This didactic space allows visitors to discover the flints from their formation in the Cretaceous period as well as their various uses throughout history. The museum also gives pride of place to fossils. It is the ideal place for a family Sunday especially when the weather is nice.
