HOLY CROSS COLLEGIATE
One of the old churches of Liege, founded in 979, presents 2 relics, a fragment of the true Cross and the key of Saint Hubert
One of the city's oldest churches, it has been undergoing a lengthy 20 million euro renovation since 2020. Founded in 979 by Bishop Notger, it boasts not only exceptional architecture, but also 2 choice relics: a fragment of the True Cross (12th-century Mosan art) and Saint Hubert's key, in which is said to be a filings from Saint Peter's chain. L'Invention de la sainte Croix, a 1674 painting by Bertholet Flémal, Christ à la colonne and Vierge de douleur, baroque statues by Guillaume Evrard, are also on display.
