TANCREMONT FORT
Observation fort with its original armaments and electromechanical installations, a museum and other basement facilities
Inaugurated on August 8, 1937, this observation fort set into the embankment still has all its original armaments and electromechanical installations. A small museum was set up in 2018 in the former "La Chapelle" tapping mill. The central massif - around three hectares in size - contains most of the fort's armaments (four cannons under two domes, mortar and machine-gun blocks). Underground, at a depth of thirty meters, are the other facilities: command post, T.S.F. station, telephone exchange, etc.
