Félix Meyer, ancestor of the Félix who runs the estate today, emigrated from Switzerland to Katzenthal in 1732. Today, the 18.5 hectares of vines are on the Grands Crus Wineck-Schlossberg, Kaefferkopf, Furstentum, Sporen and Schœnenbourg, as well as several lieux-dits. They produce a wide range of good wines: Reserve wines, Grands Crus and Lieux-Dits, Late Harvest and Sélection de Grains Nobles. Taste a Riesling Wineck-Schlossberg 2020 with a surprising peach nose and a sublime Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Furstentum 2018 with notes of pomelo.

Very nice domain with fantastic wines! We visited during a bike ride and a got a great tasting of their wines. The domain has a beautiful tasting room with views on the wine yard. Unfortunately, most of the pinot noirs were sold out, but we tasted some great Rieslings as well. At least a good opportunity to come back another time!
