COSMODROME KATTEVENNEN
This cosmodrome was designed as an all-in-one space-related activity area (astronautics and astronomy), in order to offer visitors a wide range of discoveries of all kinds. As proof, the experiments proposed: "starry nights" (every Saturday evening at 8pm, from December to March, depending on the weather - cancellation possible in case of bad weather), with observations with an astronomical telescope under the dome; various courses (astronomy, optics), especially for 10-14 year-olds; exhibitions on certain astrophysical themes with immersive experiments (360° cinema) and sky observations, etc. Additional activities, not necessarily related to astronomy, are also accessible, such as miniature golf (closed from October to March), hikes in the Kattevennen forest (several marked trails, including one to discover the Solar System and the distances between the planets), bike rides in Hoge Kempen National Park, a playground for children aged 3 to 12, picnic areas, works of art to admire, a bistro for gourmet breaks, treasure hunts, horse rides, sports courses.... there is something for every taste and every level. And it works, even beyond expectations, because the combination of astronomy and outdoor activities gives the day a very successful, peaceful and fun holiday experience.
