ÉGLISE SAINT-JEAN-BAPTISTE
You can see from afar this church planted a stone's throw from the quays of Saône. Built in the 16th century, made entirely of glazed bricks and tiles typical of the region, it is characterised by a large portal on rue de la Liberté where a superb oak sculpture depicts Saint Jean-Baptiste (1607). You enter the building through the south transept and are immediately surprised by the beauty of the place! The pulpit to be preached dates from 1604 and is made of red and black marble, while the master hotel dates from 1784. In the northern transept, a sailing boat of the Société de Secours des Mariniers (1826) and on the first floor, the organ of Bénigne Boillot (1768).
