A museum to discover the life of the bargemen and the barge industry through a permanent exhibition in Saint-Jean-de-Losne.

Housed in a 15th century house, one of the oldest houses in the town, the Musée de la Batellerie invites you to discover the life of the bargemen and the inland waterway industry through a permanent exhibition that is both entertaining and highly documented. Old photos, models of boats and locks, not forgetting this superb diving boat that looks like something out of Tintin's adventures. We owe to the Aqua association the renovation of the last wooden barge in France.

Exposition très riche, beaucoup de maquettes,reportages, photos, qui permettent de remonter le temps un super travail de toutes ses personnes bénévoles qui se sont investis, pour que la mémoire de la batellerie, demeure présente dans notre histoire....BRAVO A TOUS.

Venue par hasard, je ne regrette pas d avoir pris le temps de faire le tour du musée. L entree est gratuite. Et surtout j'ai apprécié la dame travaillant au musée et vivant sur une péniche. C'est avec passion que elle nous a fait découvrir ce musée.
