CORNELISSEN
Pax Pils, Ops-Ale, Bosbier, Kriekenbier, Limburgse Witte, Bokkereyer, Sint-Gummarus (Dubbel, Tripel), Bruin Tafelbier, Herkenrode (Bruin, Tripel),
Although already property of the family for several decades, this brewery of Limburg will take its true flight from 1980 onwards and the entry into service of Jef Cornelissen. The latter began a series of important investments. In 25 years, some 10 million euros will be devoted to various innovations. Today, the brewery spins on an annual capacity of 50,000 hectolitres. A production that also knows by the way an evolution in the 80s when it was hitherto especially famous for its Pax Pils, appeared in 1937, and its Ops-Ale listed as luxury pils.
The range widens to accommodate white of Limburg, made in collaboration with another brewer of the province, Martens, Bokkereyer, a Bosbier (with berries) and two Sint-Gummarus. In 2000, the abbey of Herkenrode, in the surroundings of Hasselt, asks the Sint-Jozef brewery to create a beer. Two versions are available, a brown and a triple. It is around this period that Jef Cornelissen Junior joined the head of the family business.
