ARCHAEOLOGICAL PARK
The oldest basilica on Walloon soil, located on the site of the old cemetery in Arlon
On the site of the old cemetery, next to a thermal bath dating from the 1st century, stood a basilica that became Christian in the5th and 6th centuries. It is the oldest on Walloon soil. Most of the remains of the thermal establishment were destroyed in 1906. One can still see the swimming pool reserved for the steam baths and some elements of the vespasian. Between the 6th and 7th centuries, the Franks buried their princes here with beautiful Merovingian jewels, which are on display in the Archaeological Museum.
