TUESDAY MEMORIAL
A monument in the shape of a star, distinctive sign of the allied troops during the liberation campaign in Bastogne
Inaugurated in 1950, it is the work of architect George Dedoyard. It bears witness to Belgian gratitude to the American soldiers who gave their lives to counter the last German offensive of the Second World War. The monument is shaped like a star, the distinctive sign of the Allied troops during the liberation campaign (evoking the American flag). The circular gallery is reminiscent of a temple, with its many columns and central courtyard. It features the names of all the US states and the Battle of the Bulge troops.
