VILLA GALLO-ROMAINE DE MAGEROY
A villa on the Roman road from Trêves to Reims, in Habay, with a wealth of Gallo-Roman memorabilia.
Situated on the Trêves-Reims Roman road, the Gaume region has left many reminders of the Gallo-Roman era, such as the ruins of this villa at Habay-la-vieille. Since 1984, the non-profit organization ARC-HAB (Groupe d'archéologie de Habay) has been studying and preserving this site, where excavations are still ongoing. Watching archaeologists at work in summer is part of the site's appeal. The villa existed from around 50 AD to the middle of the 4th century, and had its own thermal baths.
