Castle with a small museum, housing the archaeological remains, and offering an exceptional view of La Roche-en-Ardenne

Built between the 11th and 13th centuries on a steep rock overlooking La Roche, this fortress was occupied by the Counts of Namur, then by the Dukes of Luxembourg, the Dukes of Burgundy, Maximilian of Austria, Charles V and finally Philip II. Having fallen into disrepair in the 18th century, there is not much left to see today, except for the ruins and a small museum housing the archaeological remains. But the place offers an exceptional view on the city and the Ourthe valley. Shows and medieval weekends are organized there in summer.

chateau féodal de La Roche en ardenne
Château très agréable à visiter, il n'y a pas énormément de pièces à voir mais il est situé sur un promontoire rocheux et du haut de ses tours , on a un superbe panorama, la cour intérieur accueille un spectacle de fauconnerie, une des salles est transformée en taverne et une terrasse extérieure est a disposition si on préfère le soleil ! Chaque soir pendant toute la saison touristique, le fantôme de Bethe de La Roche , promène sur les remparts du château, spectacle visible depuis de nombreux endroits dans la ville , l'histoire du château est contée et le fantôme promène sur touts les remparts du château !

Ruines d'un ancien chateau , malheureusement peu d’intérêt , sauf en été car bcp d'installations y sont dédiées pour pique niquer, tables , et bancs.
