ROCK CASTLE
Castle with a small museum, housing the archaeological remains, and offering an exceptional view of La Roche-en-Ardenne
Built between the 11thand 13th centuries on a steep rock overlooking La Roche, this fortress was occupied by the Counts of Namur, then by the Dukes of Luxembourg, the Dukes of Burgundy, Maximilian of Austria, Charles V and finally Philip II. Having fallen into disrepair in the 18thcentury , all that remains today are the ruins and a small museum housing the archaeological remains. However, the site offers exceptional views over the city and the Ourthe valley. Medieval shows and weekends are organized throughout the year.
