MALOME WAR CEMETERY
Cemeteries of French and German soldiers who fell in Longlier and Hamipré, tribute to the victims of the August 1914 fighting
A tribute to the victims of the fighting in August 1914, this cemetery contains the graves of French and German soldiers who fell at Longlier and Hamipré. They are lined up in a semi-circle on either side of the beautiful entrance archway, made of local schist. The cemetery was built in 1917 by the Germans. After the Second World War, soldiers' bodies that had not been repatriated were transferred here. Originally, these bodies were buried in the 8 military cemeteries around Neufchâteau.
