Museum known for its engravings of roses, Pierre-Joseph Redouté, nicknamed the Raphael of Roses

Known for his rose engravings, Pierre-Joseph Redouté, nicknamed the "Raphael of roses", was born in Saint-Hubert in 1759. He produced plates of plants and flowers to illustrate botanists' works, and gave drawing lessons to Marie-Antoinette, Joséphine de Beauharnais and Louise-Marie d'Orléans. He died in debt and poverty in 1840. The museum presents his work, as well as Saint-Hubert in the 18th and 19th centuries.
