Go there and contact
Built between 1784 and 1793 by the engineer Emiland Gauthey, this 112 km long canal with 61 locks connects the valleys of Saône and Loire. Formerly, it ensured the link between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic and was primarily used for commercial and industrial purposes. Today, it is a great place for hiking and cycling thanks to the cycling path. Through barges or boats you can reach the Saône, you can go to Chalon-sur-Saône, Digoin and for the most adventurous to the Atlantic, the English Channel, the Mediterranean and even the eastern countries by the Rhine. Enjoy the adventure!
