Kingersheim is resolutely a fertile territory for civic ideas that cross utopia to live on a daily basis. Since July 2008 and the first edition of the Six Feet on Earth eco-citizen festival, always faithful to its objective - to live well together, in a social mix, intergenerational and participatory democracy -, the association has opened its living space in a former textile factory, where people enjoy meeting and exchanging ideas. The same place is home to a restaurant, a café-theatre, an organic grocery store, a Wednesday farmers' market and an exhibition hall. The educational vegetable garden, around Marc Hoffmann, is not very far away and contributes greatly to the life of the Sheds.
