RUINES DE CRÈVECOEUR
Château de Crève-Cœur, overlooking the Meuse valley, Bouvignes and Dinant, opposite the ruins of Poilvache
There are two ways to reach the ruins. You can take the small path that starts behind the church, but it's slippery and difficult to climb after rain. Or you can take the road around the rocky outcrop, which is less strenuous but has an easy, well-equipped parking lot. The remains of the castle were made more welcoming in 2012 (metal footbridge). From the 14th-century tower, the view over the Meuse valley, Bouvignes and Dinant is breathtaking! Opposite, the ruins of Poilvache can be seen. Crèvecoeur was destroyed in 1554 by Henry II's troops.
