Built at the initiative of Count Philippe de Vianden who wanted to curb the hegemony of the counties of Flanders and Namur, the castle of Corroy-le-Château is considered to be the finest castle in the 13 th century of the country. Castle of plain, it was built, it says, on the plans of the Louvre. It is one of the best preserved castrales residences in northern Europe and belongs to the Main Heritage of Wallonia. The fortress, with its incredible character, is still impressive.

La visite du château vaut la peine d'y passer un peu de temps. Le propriétaire fait partie de la famille Nothomb qui a donné de nombreux politiciens à la Belgique depuis 1830. Elle a donné un résistant célèbre et controversé au cours de la guerre 40-45, qui est ensuite devenu écrivain. Et l'écrivaine à succès, Amélie Nothomb, qui vit à Paris, est la nièce du propriétaire.
