In 1857, Antoine Lescure, travelling tinker, (FYI, the tinkers were workers in charge of covering tools and metal utensils with a layer of molten tin, to prevent them from oxidizing) opened a tin workshop in Selongey. It manufactures buckets, watering cans, deciliters, mussels and milk scales. In 1944, the Lescure Petit-fils company became Stamping Company of Burgundy (Société d’Emboutissage de Bourgogne): SEB was born. In the 1950s, the Super Cocotte was sold for over a million each year. The company was inaugurated soon in other markets with odorless innovative fryer (1967), all automatic toaster (1973) or the electric yoghourt maker (1974). Then SEB brings together famous brands like Tefal, Moulinex, Rowenta and Krups under its name. The main factory is still active with more than 500 employees. Now, it manufactures pressure-cookers. Groups can visit it by appointment but think of reserving about 6 months in advance.
