ÉGLISE SAINT MAURICE DE SENNECEY LÈS DIJON
Ancient church dedicated to Saint Maurice, housing a painting, La Vierge à l'Enfant, restored and classified as a historic monument
Saint-Maurice church in Sennecey-lès-Dijon has the distinction of being the third oldest church in Côte-d'Or, built in 1049 and dedicated to Saint Maurice, a Roman legionary martyred in Switzerland at the end of the 3rd century. In anticipation of celebrating its thousandth anniversary in 2049, it has just been restored in partnership with the Fondation du Patrimoine and the Mairie de Sennecey-lès-Dijon. Masses are held there every Thursday at 9am. The Association des Amis de l'église Saint-Maurice organizes Sunday tours in summer. The interior, with its nave dating back to 1049, has also been restored, and features statues from the 16th and 17th centuries, as well as a painting, La Vierge à l'Enfant, restored and listed as a Monument Historique.
