SAINT-LOUP CHURCH
Church of a remarkable testimony of the religious architecture in Namur, with workshops, conferences, exhibitions
Baudelaire had been dazzled by Namur's most elegant church. However, the church he had admired was not the one we see today, restored to its original appearance at no. 17 rue du Collège. Built between 1621 and 1645, this Jesuit convent church is a Baroque masterpiece, a remarkable example of 17th-century religious architecture. Workshops, lectures and exhibitions marked the 400th anniversary of the laying of the foundation stone, which will be celebrated on September 23, 2021. When not in use, a bay window lets you admire without touching.
