Félicien Rops Museum presenting the main periods and themes of Rops, with temporary exhibitions scheduled
Félicien Rops, a controversial and provocative artist in his day, was born in Namur. The museum dedicated to him adjoins the house where he was born. Housed in a former mansion dating from the 18thand 19th centuries, it features over a thousand works of art, as well as a major collection of engravings numbering two thousand items. From the start of his career as a caricaturist in Brussels to his consecration in the City of Light, the museum presents Rops' main periods and themes: women, love, desire and death. Temporary exhibitions are also scheduled.
