SCLADINA CAVE
Scladina cave located in Scayn, presenting bones of cave bears and woolly rhinoceroses, flint tools
Cave bear and woolly rhinoceros bones, flint tools... Scladina was discovered by cavers in 1971. The major find was the right hemi-mandible of a Neanderthal child, called the Sclayn Child, in 1993. Today, the site is still a prehistoric excavation site. Archaeologists will tell you about the methods used for the excavations and the life of prehistoric man. The DNA taken from a molar of the Sclayn child is quite simply the oldest known human DNA in the world!
