RUINS OF POILVACHE
Castle located a few kilometers north of Dinant, dominating the hamlet of Houx, with impressive ruins at Yvoir
5 km north of Dinant, dominating the hamlet of Houx, the impressive ruins of this 13th century medieval castle overlook the Meuse. Surrounded by greenery, it once occupied a strategic position on the borders of the principality of Liege and the county of Namur. On its rocky spur, the ruins are surrounded by walls and flanked by towers, 9 in all. Poilvache is also a nature reserve (on 19 ha) protecting the fauna, flora and particular geology of the place. Opposite, two meanders further on, you can see Crévecœur.
