Play Bouzouki' is a restaurant specializing in Greek dishes, as well as meat cooked in the Josper coals oven, the Rolls Royce of ovens! There's plenty of space to celebrate all your private or business events. Easy access and no parking worries!
IN THE BEGINNING... IT ALL BEGAN IN 1978..
Tolis set up shop in the Alexandre Le Grand restaurant at the Barrière de Saint Gilles.
Since the age of 14, Tolis had already been attracted to the restaurant business, working as a student in a number of restaurants.
Over time, this attraction developed into a real passion for gastronomy.
In 1978, the former owners of the Alexandre Le Grand restaurant suggested that Tolis and his wife, whom they considered family, take over the establishment.
They did so, and immediately expanded the business by taking over a small Chinese restaurant on the side and adding a banqueting room upstairs.
It was a great success from the very first day! Full houses, Greek-style dancing every night, a festive atmosphere, regular customers, personalized room service....bref, everything we loved, everything we love and everything we'll always love!
The great classics were already on the menu, and have never left the menu of Tolis' future restaurant..
JANV. 1998 RESTAURANT LE PLAY BOUZOUKI
Tolis kept the Saint Gilles restaurant until 1998, having taken over his uncle Toni's Greek restaurant in 1994.
A team of 50 people for 4 years, hundreds of satisfied customers, tons of merchandise, thousands of liters of wine, but always the same passion for Greek gastronomy.
1994, work begins at Play Bouzouki to transform a small courtyard into a superb terrace, and new toilets are installed on the first floor for the comfort of customers.
This was followed by a new menu to offer a selection of dishes to satisfy all customers, including traditional French dishes such as magret de canard (duck breast), jambonneau (knuckle of pork) and moules....
In 1998, Tolis withdrew from Saint Gilles, much to the despair of the local residents (who soon came to the new address), to devote himself fully to his new baby: Le Play Bouzouki in Sint Pieters Leeuw (next to the IKEA and Coca Cola factories).
This was followed in the early 2000s by a magnificent peeling bench.
JANV. 2007 TOLIS DELICATESSE
In 2007, the "Tolis Délicatesse" workshop of typical Greek pastries was born.
Tolis entrusted this magnificent workshop directly to his son, Spyros, to satisfy his insatiable thirst for gastronomy.
