MOSQUEES
Also called Khanqah mosque, Shah-i-Hamdan's Khanqah (or Muslim meeting Room) is a beautiful carved wooden building dating back to 1730. Entry is forbidden to non-Muslims, but the facade is worth a glance. Another mosque different from those commonly found in the rest of Northern India, the Jama Masjid (Nowhatta). Built in the th century, you will notice its roof in pagoda reminiscent of some Hindu temples. It bears witness to the bygone era where Hinduism and Islam cohabited without a hitch. It can accommodate up to 33 000 people. Around the mosque, you can stroll through the winding alleys of the market.
