JERVIS BAY NATIONAL PARK
A breathtaking park much appreciated by tourists, offering many activities such as canoeing, swimming..
Breathtakingly beautiful, Jervis Bay is one of the jewels of New South Wales. This region, a large part of which is covered by the Jervis Bay National Park, has long been popular with tourists. These blue waters are home to numerous dolphins and whales, which migrate between May and November. Activities: hiking, canoeing, swimming and snorkeling. In the Currarong area, at the northeastern tip of the bay, access to the lighthouse and Honeymoon Bay is restricted by military regulations. You'll need to declare what you're carrying in your vehicle when you pass through the Ranger Station.
There's noshortage of beaches to choose from in Jervis Bay, each more heavenly than the last: Hyams Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in New South Wales, with white sand and crystal-clear water; Murrays Beach, a little less crowded than Hyams Beach, with very calm water perfect for children, or snorkeling or kayaking. Moona Moona Creek is perfect for families, with calm, shallow water for children.
For photo enthusiasts, Honeymoon Bay is the perfect spot for a sunset. Drones are not permitted, however. Kangaroos can sometimes be found at the entrance to the beach.
Jervis Bay is also a walker's paradise. Here's a selection of five nature trails: St. George's Head Circuit (11 km), The Munyunga Waraga Dhugan (5 km), White Sands Walk (along the beaches), The Trig Walk & Wreck Walk and The Grotto Walk (Nowra - 1 to 2 hours).
