Tastings, amateur competitions, world championships... In Vougeot, the "œuf en meurette" is celebrated over the weekend in mid-October.
A gastronomic mecca, the Château du Clos de Vougeot is THE temple of the egg meurette. Since 1953, it has been served at every meal, and chef Alexandra Bouvret even manages to serve up to 1,200 of them (to 600 guests) in 5 minutes! Every year in mid-October, the "Journées mondiales de l'œuf en meurette" are held here. Tastings, conferences and amateur competitions are held on Saturday, while top chefs compete for the World Championship!
