LE CHÂTEAU DU CLOS DE VOUGEOT
In the heart of the vineyards, this gastronomic Mecca is full of treasures. Or when the history of Burgundy unfolds before our eyes.
The Château du Clos de Vougeot is one of the historic and gastronomic jewels of the Côte de Nuits! Built in the 12th century by the monks of the Abbey of Cîteaux in the midst of vineyards, it is now one of the most famous vineyards in the world, and every year thousands of visitors come to see this magnificent edifice. Classified as a historic monument, it is also home to the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin. During your self-guided tour, visit the superb 12th-century cellar, designed to hold thousands of bottles, a 12th- and 13th-century cuverie housing some very fine presses, as well as the former kitchens and superb Renaissance salons, and don't miss the château's brand-new oenotheque. New: it's now possible to visit the château completely independently and offline via the free downloadable "Balades en Bourgogne" application, which turns your smartphone into an audio tour guide. Take a self-guided tour of the château's emblematic rooms, while enjoying stories told by professional actors. If you'd also like to take advantage of your visit to taste wines, choose the Cœur de Climats sensory experience: you'll visit the winery, the Grand Cellier Cistercien, the dormitory of the lay monks, then watch the film Jamais en Vain, Toujours en Vin, narrated by Pierre Arditi, before discovering five Burgundy wines from the Tastevinage label, accompanied by gougères. The Château du Clos de Vougeot also organizes cultural, artistic and wine tourism events every year.
This year, several events have been organized to enhance your experience of this historic site. The temporary exhibition "Années vin - Années Folles du monde viticole", which runs from April 5, 2024 to April 5, 2025, immerses you in the wine culture of the Entre-Deux-Guerres period. What were its specific features? Were the wines unique? All these questions are answered in this fascinating exhibition.
For a bite to eat, head to La Table de Léonce, where you can sample a delicious, typically Burgundian menu, made from fresh, local produce (gougères, smoked trout, a fine selection of cheeses...). Everything you need to spend an incredible moment in this emblematic Château.

9€ pour si peu, c'est surprenant pour un domaine si prestigieux, même les toilettes étaient fermées.
Allez visiter d'autres domaines mais surtout pas le Clos Vougeot.
Grande déception !!

Je recommande fortement ce lieu
