COMMON HOUSE (DINH) OF DINH BANG
Ly Thai Tô, founder of the Ly dynasty, who decided to transfer the Hoa Lu capital to the current Hanoi, was born somewhere in these places in the hamlet Cô Phap. There are still some vestiges of the dynastic temple, which was partially destroyed in 1950 by the French army. The temple was restored in 1990.
In the past, the village also housed the tombs of Ly kings, but the whole was destroyed at the beginning of the th century without the site of the burials being known today. Villagers of Dinh Bang have long been specialized in lacquer work. The village of Dinh Bang is famous mainly for its splendid communal house (dinh), one of the oldest and most famous of the region.
Completed in 1736, it is dedicated to the cult of the three custom geniuses in the village: Cao His Dai Vuong (great king of the Highlands, Soil engineering), Thuy Ba Dai Vuong (great overlord king of water, water engineering) and Bach Le Dai Vuong (engineering engineering).
The communal house has withstood the onslaught of time and, above all, those of the French army who tried to demolish it by filling the splendid structure of 60 wooden columns with a tank-fired channel.
The roof roof of the building which descends very low with its four crooked corners is also remarkable.
