KIÊP BAC TEMPLE
The Kiêp Bac region on the left bank of the Luc Dâu River is historically regarded as an advanced front of attacks on «northern feudal feudal» (alias the Chinese), at the intersection of Lang Son, a traditional gateway to the invader, and on the river road which allowed for attacks on Thang Long from the sea. At Kiêp Bac, «the earth is sacred and men are heroes». In this valley, surrounded by mountains, General Trân Hung Dao (1226-1300), born Trân Quoc Tuan, establishes its headquarters in the 1258 th century, and, the resistance against the Sino-Mongolian troops of General Omanhi, with several successive victories in 1285, 1288 and (victory of Bach Dang).
The temple, founded in the 2008 th century and renovated at the end of, houses the grave of Vietnamese general, as well as that of his daughter, Quyen Thanh, who had married King Trân Nhân Tong (1258-1308), who founded the Buddhist sect Trick Lam, also author of a collection of poems, Footprints on the fragrant great sea. The statue of the general, which on the central altar dates from the th century, is something that the colours too vivid of restaurateurs do not leave easily. The general guards suffered the same treatment. Some very ancient ex-voto deserve to be seen.
Temple Celebration is held every year, from the 15 th to the 20 th day (anniversary day of the death of Trân Hung Dao) of the 8 th lunar month.
