Church on the southern slope of Monte del Naranco with a surprising bas-relief with figures from a Byzantine codex
Situated a little higher, at an altitude of almost 400 m, the church of San Miguel has been nicknamed the "vertical miracle". Originally built as a palace church by the architect Tioda, its apses were partially removed. Nevertheless, it retains its magnificent proportions, with a search for support and distribution of volumes. On the threshold, see the surprising bas-relief inspired by figures from a Byzantine codex and inside, the wall paintings.
