National park with a crater 5 km in diameter and nearly 560 m deep, offering a glimpse of a volcanic cone

Parque Nacional El Boquerón is located on the crater of the volcano of the same name, at an altitude of 1,800 metres. The park's main attraction is of course the crater, 5 km in diameter and almost 560 m deep, at the bottom of which you can see El Boqueroncito, a small volcanic cone. Several trails allow you to follow the crater ridge through a tropical forest, admiring the plants and trees. The climate is pleasant, cooler than in the capital.

A proximité de la capitale le cratère du Boqueron est impressionnant par sa régularité et sa profondeur. Accès sur les bords du cratère facile en véhicule et une petite marche. Quartier calme et ombragé où on peut entendre divers oiseaux locaux.
Un premier aspect du volcanisme très présent dans ce pays.
