ELK ISLAND NATIONAL PARK
Elk Island National Park is now home to a wealth of wildlife including moose, deer and birds.
Founded in 1906 to protect declining elk populations in the Beaver Hills, Elk Island National Park is now home to a host of wildlife: moose, deer and birds galore. The area is fenced, not least to preserve the park's two emblematic species: plains bison and wood bison, which can be seen roaming freely. There are 12 trails to choose from for summer hiking, including the Shoreline Trail (3 km), the Lakeview Trail (3.3 km) and the Wood Bison Trail (19 km round trip).

Ne pas manquer le visitor center qui a une jolie boutique.
Venir tôt le matin si vous voulez voir les animaux, après 9h c'est trop tard pour les castors !
