The Marietta Confederate Cemetery houses the remains of over 3 000 soldiers buried after the Civil War. Each nuptial state is represented, as well as Kentucky, Missouri and Maryland. It is the largest nuptial cemetery south of Richmond. A large number of soldiers buried here fought in the battles of Kolb's Farm (22 June 1864) and Kennesaw Mountain (27 June 1864).
