Aerial Tramway offers a climb while providing a panoramic view of the city of Gatlinburg and the Appalachian Mountains.
Built in 1973, the tramway climbs the mountain while offering panoramic views of Gatlinburg and the surrounding Appalachian mountains. The ascent is punctuated by the eventful passage of the various pillars and the driver's comments on the history of the tramway or the houses you'll see along the way.
At the top, you reach the Ober Mountain ski resort. Winter for skiing, summer for summer attractions: climbing, hiking, tobogganing of all kinds: on track, rail or grass...
In both summer and winter, there's also a skating rink and ice buoys, as well as several fast-food stands.
