HIDDEN RIVER CAVE & AMERICAN CAVE MUSEUM
This site includes several activities around the visit of the cave and the underground river that was long the source of water but also electricity of the city (a generator operated thanks to the hydraulic force of the river). After years of uncontrolled pollution, the site was closed in 1943 to finally reopen in 1989, clean up and be exploited for tourism. The walk is short enough but requires good legs to get down and then go up the access steps in the water. Before the guided tour, a very interesting tour of the museum allows everyone to understand the history of the site and the geological formation of the region. Along with the visit, Hidden River Cave organizes reminders along the outer wall of metres high, a crossing in Tyrolean (zipline) above access to the cave and two caving excursions.
