LOST RIVER CAVE
Lost River Cave is a seven-mile underground cave system located southwest of Bowling Green city center. The site, one of which is visited, is under the responsibility of Western Kentucky University and a local association. The guided tower starts with a walk in the valley to reach the entrance of the cave, one of the largest natural entries of this type east of the Mississippi. During this short walk, your guide will tell you the story of the Blue Hole and the missing soldiers of the Civil War. The discovery of the cave in a 45-minute tower will appear to be quite conventional for those who have experienced this type of experience. However, the history of the site, which served as a lurking to both opposing camps during the civil war, underground distillery during prohibition or night club (Cavern Nite Club) from 1934, gives a special piment to the visit. The site is often privatized for specific events, including weddings.
Lost River Cellar also has a three tyrolean course. Small but no less impressive. The first tyrolienne penetrates the natural basin with Blue Hole turquoise water, the second, longest and fastest in the course, is probably the one that provides the most sensations. As for the last, admittedly slower, it offers the opportunity to take the time to appreciate the flying session. And for the most reckless, why not throw you back and take it out of hand.
