This site houses the Shakers community buildings in 1805. After a little over 100 years of existence, the community was dissolved in 1910. We had to wait until 1961 for a group of people from Lexington to embark on the restoration of the site. Today, with 34 original 1 100 th century buildings and hectares of agricultural land, Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill is intended to be the largest historical community of its kind in America. Boat tours at dawn are possible on the nearby Kentucky River.
