Jimmie Rodgers (1897-1933), the father of country music, was born in Meridian and grew up in the region. This museum presents his original guitar and other memories of his life and career. The location is not very extensive, but the collection is very complete and the staff is always very welcoming. Each year, in May, is held in the city and here the Jimmie Rodgers Festival. Outside the museum, railway equipment from the time of the steam machines is exposed. The tomb of Jimmie Rodgers is located at Oak Grove Edifices, 4 miles away.
