Formerly used as an office, this art deco building built in 1929 has gone to two fingers of demolition. Fortunately for architectural lovers, Hotel Giacomo has set up and now offers its services just steps from Niagara Falls. The lounge open every day at 17 am invites you to enjoy a cocktail at the corner of the fire and with residents who live in one of the 24 apartments also located in the building. All modern comforts linked to the prestige of a historic monument.

Great location however the neighborhood seems abandoned. Very dated property. It appears their normal excuse is we had several call outs and as result we do not have anyone at the bar or food services tonight. We had been up since 2am traveling all day so we were going to oversee those services offered. Upon entering our room I immediately noticed insects ???? crawling on the beds. I proceeded to alert the family to not unpack. Went to the reception and shared pictures about my findings. Not an apology was given but immediately “ do you want to check out?” The staff needs to learn service resolutions. We turned keys and walked out. For about an hour we were stranded in the streets until we were able to find another location in the Niagara area.

My family and I recently had the pleasure of staying at the newly renovated Giacomo Hotel. The renovations were beautifully done, the hospitality of the entire staff was unsurpassed and the welcoming and accommodating customer service from Brandon and Tee was nothing less than 5 star. Without a doubt, if ever again we have the opportunity to visit the Niagara Falls area, the Giacomo Hotel will be our chosen stay for home away from home!

This is a pretty nice old hotel that has been renovated. The rooms a nice and big. The location is perfect very close to the Falls. Walking distance to what ever you need. The breakfast in the morning hits the spot.

Terrible experience with the property. They didn’t give me the room I paid for and the manager Jessica was less than professional about it and incredibly rude. Communication with property via booking absolutely terrible. To top it off the room smelled like sewage so badly I couldn’t even shower. Definitely do not recommend.

Booked a three night stay at The Giacomo Hotel in mid February. We booked a corner room expecting a scenic view of the area, however we found upon checking in that Floors 7 through 16 are all residential apartments. We ended up with a lovely corner room on the 2nd floor with a view of a wall and a parking lot.

There is also a MAJOR problem with the energy saving feature of the rooms. Rather than requiring a room key being inserted into a slot to provide power to the room, the rooms have a motion sensor mounted on the wall that turns on the power to the room when motion is detected.

Well when you fall asleep, the motion detectors will fail to detect you, causing you to wake up to a freezing cold room in the morning. If you have a medical device like a CPAP machine, it will shut off in the middle of the night unless plugged into a specific unmarked outlet. The front desk initially misidentified this outlet for me, so I spent my first night with my CPAP machine shutting off intermittently causing me to repeatedly wake up due to not being able to breath.

We also had a diesel generator fire up right outside of our window for 15 minutes straight when we were trying to sleep in...

We really wanted to like this hotel due to the vintage look, very friendly staff, and nice breakfast, but we will not be returning or recommending The Giacomo Hotel.
